“Gowans has worked to add some bulk to his frame, and it has come with some added speed to his fastball. Right now, he is sitting in the mid-80s, but that is expected to keep increasing as he continues to age. His fastball has some late life on it, and his secondary pitches are also solid. This should be a big year for the senior, who should get some valuable innings under his belt in the winter and the spring.

“He is only going to get better and will be an asset to any team at the next level. I would be interested to see how he does at the plate in 2023 as well: I think he can have a big year offensively when he is not on the mound.”
