Scouting Report

When you come into your sophomore year as a student-athlete, you are just trying to get a little bit … 1% as they say… better every day.

That is the main goal for Garden State Ducks and St. Peter’s Prep IF/P Nicholas DelGuidice over the next five months: keep improving - on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom.

DelGuidice comes into his sophomore year off very big summer and fall campaigns for the Ducks, and wants to carry that over into the winter hitting and pitching clinics. While many people think the time to improve is during a season, the real work is done in the strength and conditioning programs and in the cages during those dark winter months preparing for the spring season.

DelGuidice has been working hard in the classroom as well, and will continue to raise his already high GPA.

Here is a scouting report on DelGuidice:

“He is still growing, so there is a bit of projection to do, but you can tell he is going to become a player. He has a sweet swing already, and has a slick glove in the field. He can play either middle infield position, and may end up settling in at second base. He has quick hands through the zone, and you have to think his power will come as he grows into his body.”
